Hmm only one retailer in the UK? Time to go on an adventure I reckon, would love to get my hands on one!
I was going to buy a Droidworx CX as my nice looking, transportable quadcopter, but this has made me wonder which one is better looking. It's a hundred quid or so cheaper as well. I noticed Buzzflyer is selling them here. I always find their stuff overpriced and think I used to hear bad things about them? I'd be tempted to get it from Belgium instead.
Ok, I coouldn't help myself, I ordered one of the quadcopter frames from Buzzflyer. I must have been thinking of a different shop regarding hearing bad things, at least I've bought something from there before anyway as I already had an account. Guess I will see, should be here by Monday I think. I will review it when it arrives if you want to hold off.
Yeah the Droidworx CX does look nice, but these Sky Hero ones look like they can lift more, simply because of the double motor mounts! I await your review with excitement!
Seems that would be the logical thing to do Oh I'm like a kid at christmas, I can't wait to see the build and flight videos!
This is the initial put-togethering to see how she looks. Should have her up in the air in the next couple of days, possible flying alongside a DJI Phantom to compare.
Wow looks a bit bigger than what I expected, but I get that a with a lot of things! Landing legs certainly look a lot more sturdy than the ones you get on the IFLY-4. Do all the parts on the Spyder feel good quality? One of the problems I have with the IFLY-4 is the canopy and landing legs feel really flimsy Can't wait to see how well the Spyder flies though!
Would be interesting to test them against each other, see how well they handle certain scenarios like hard landings, tumbles and crashes etc. see which is a better design
I did my first test flight on Friday with the DJI Naza V2 and GPS, it flew really nice. I used a 4s 5000 mah battery and flew for 6 minutes before my battery buzzer went off. My ESCs and motors are really for 5 or 6 cell batteries though, so I will try one of those next. Will put video up tomorrow.
Here's my first test flight of the Sky Hero Spyder in quadcopter config. Stayed nice and low to be safe, but it flew perfectly. I really like it.
Wow looks like an incredibly stable platform, I can only dream of shots like that from my IFLY! Are you happy with the current set up or are you still considering going for 8 motors? Even if it is just a test and you go back to 4 afterwards, I think it'd be interesting to see how the performance is effected Great video, can't wait for more!
