Just found this new little quad, the Quanum NOVA from Hobby King for £188. I think it seems pretty good, GPS and waypoints. I think it actually started out in February as this: And here is the Hobby King link: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__55106__Quanum_Nova_FPV_GPS_Waypoint_QuadCopter_Mode_2_Ready_to_Fly_.html
Certainly looks interesting and reasonably priced with all those features, but I can't help but think of the DJI Phantom when I see it! Is it just me who thinks the Nova is a pretty similar design to the Phantom?
Sure, it looks similar - the Phantom is a good design. There's a few monocoque designs that look Phantomish, like the Walkera QR X350 http://www.walkera.com/en/showgoods.php?id=2507 and the E-Flite Blade 350 QX isn't a million miles away: http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=BLH7800 I think the Dex waterproof frame was the first one I ever saw like this, a couple of years before the Phantom came out. In fact I've found someone here stripping out their Phantom to but the gubbins in a Dex http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-outdoor-photos/552550-waterproof-quadcopter-build.html
