Having a bit of a crappy time with these guys so far. I bought a droidworx CX frame from them which they advertised as a CX V3 Here: http://www.kopterworx.com/CX-Series/CX-4-V3 - They've changed the wording now since I complained to Droidworx directly.

They sent me a CX V1 instead, so not such a great bargain after all.

This is their first email reply after I sent a message saying they sent me a V1:

"Please send me picture. And i will chekc. It should be v3 but not titanium version."

I sent them pictures of the obviously V1 landing gear (other versions are quite a lot different) and the frame.

    Their next reply:

"WIll let matjaz answer this email. Give him some time since he is in tailand.

    With Best Regards

    Dejan"

After this I told them what the guy at Droidworx said: "'Hi, Can you please contact Kopterworx in regards to your V3 CX. I'm not entirely sure what they have sold you. It isnt a CX600 (i.e. V3), so its likely a V1 with some type of customization on their behalf."

    After which Dejan replied:

    "Hello,

i told you we dont have cx600 at all. Only the v3, the one before the cx600 series. Maybe there is some mistake and its v2 but there was some update after this one.
Also we have some v1 on stock and our shiping send the wrong one.
Please wait for matjaz to come back and he will sort it.

    With Best Regards
    Dejan"

    I replied: "Hi,

I don't remember you mentioning you don't have the CX600 anywhere? The one before the CX600 is the V2.

    Best wishes,

    Jonathan Malory"

Then lastly Matjaž has replied: "Hello,

Well you got the v1 version. And it was our mistake since we had wrong information on page. We cant give you the v3 version since we dont have it.
So please send us back the frame in original packaging and we will refund you all the money + shiping. THis is all i can do atm.
That is why this item is on discount and is about 300 eur cheaper then the new cosmetically improved cx600.
This is stock and no modification was made ot it.

Let me know on how we will continue this.

    With Best Regards

    Matjaž Kranjčevič"

    My last reply: "Hi,

Hmm, I started building it now and want to finish it, so I guess I'm stuck with it. Guess I will know better in future.

    Best wishes,

    Jonathan Malory".

Thing is, I don't even mind that it's a V1, just don't like all the runaround malarkey and being told something is what it isn't.

Hmm you would have thought being the vendor of such high end products they'd be a little more formal in their emails, especially in reply to a complaint. Not using contractions such as 'atm'. And with such a professional looking website I'd expect slightly better customer service staff. I can't imagine you were particularly pleased when they replied in such an informal manner?

I never really thought about that at the time. Looking at it now, you're right. They haven't actually apologised either. They're obviously not very professional in their approach, though I did get the feeling that the first guy, Dejan, was a little more caring than the guy in charge, who was more like 'well we wrote it wrong, tough shit. Wrap it up and send it back if you want'. I'm not sure he did write it wrong either, I think I just caught him out. Notice how the URL still says V3, even though they edited the title on the page. I wouldn't be surprised if they change the text back in a few days when they think it's blown over... unless they read this, of course. They've been listing it as a V3 since October 2012: http://web.archive.org/web/20121009002459/http://www.kopterworx.com/vmchk/CX-Series/CX-4-V3? so heaven knows how many they sold to people who don't know the difference.

I've written to Droidworx directly a few times and they're very professional and polite, worlds apart from Kopterworx's approach. I think sometimes people start businesses these days without much of a clue about customer service and dealing with customers, because all you need to do is set up a website and stick some pictures up with prices. A real, savvy business person would have said sorry and offered something for the 'mistake', credit or props or something. I know I would, and I know plenty of RC/Multirotor dealers who would too.

It's a shame really, there's always one bad apple to spoil the bunch. It just goes to show, you can never really trust anything you see... No matter how professional it looks. Which is why I'm grateful you have this section on the forums. It's especially difficult for RC Rookies (much like myself) to know where to buy things from so I'm very thankful you provide these sections Jonathan!  :) But I am still rather surprised they haven't really offered any compensation other than if you send it back they'll refund you. If anything at all you would think they would offer some compensation (no matter how small) just so you wouldn't be left with a wrong product and a bad impression of the site.
