I know this is mostly common sense but I'll post it here in case anyone is unsure.

When I first bought my IFLY-4 I was chuffed to bits with it! Being my first quadcopter I didn't have anything to compare it against and just accepted how it flew, however One thing I did notice when getting it out of the packaging even, was that some of the props had small notches on the very tips. At first I didn't take much notice, I knew this being my first quad, I was bound to crash it and damage them even more!

And inevitably I did crash, one day whilst doing a small flight in my back garden, I had the quad facing me in flight and it began to move in my direction. I tried to pull it back but it seemed as though my control inputs didn't work (either that or I was too busy panicking to realise I wasn't giving it enough! I know I shouldn't panic, but this was my second flight!) so unfortunately it flew into the side of my house and one of the props broke.

Apart from actually braking, the leading edge and tip of the blade suffered only light scratching! So when I ordered some new props I originally only replaced the broken one. However only recently did I decide that I would replace the remaining props and see if the quad flew any better. I can in fact confirm it did help considerably!

So quick tip for anyone who intends to buy or has the IFLY-4, buy a spare set of props (get two packs as they come in sets of two!) and I'd recommend replacing the stock props immediately! I bought my props from http://www.arrowmodels.com/ (see a thread on this site here: http://www.droneminds.com/forums/index.php?topic=80.0 ) which arrived in perfect condition! If you want you can also fork out a bit of extra money for the Carbon Fibre props (about £15 more than standard) also available on Arrow Models, however I haven't tried these yet so can't give a personal opinion!

Thanks for reading and happy flying, friends!  8)

They look like the gaui props, not very good either, are they 8 inches? Carbon fibre props will definitely be better, lighter and stronger. They even selling them on Amazon now, though they're from China they take about two weeks to arrive. 4 pair for 23 quid though: http://www.amazon.co.uk/8-0x4-5-Carbon-Propeller-Quadcopter-Hexacopter/dp/B00D01PQB4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1378412667&sr=8-9&keywords=carbon+props

I bought 8 lots of 12 inch props from same people and they're good, same as ones you get here from Fast Lad etc.

Hmm that's a good deal on Amazon, unfortunately the IFLY-4 uses 10 inch props  :p

The carbon fibre ones for sale on Arrow Models are £20 just for two! But I shouldn't complain, it's the only site I've found them on! Guess I need to save more pennies now after buying that wing cam ;)

Fair enough I did not realise I could go smaller, but I'll stick with the 10 inch props I've got and once I get a bit more confident I'll do some experimentation :)

I didn't mean that, I meant that those are the sizes those people on Amazon sell - so they have your size too.
