Flying around my local mall. The large concentration of cars is where Wal*Mart is (Yes, actually part of this mall!) This is called the Country Club Mall. Named so because the mall was constructed over an old Country Club. This was filmed in the middle of the afternoon. Guess nobody goes to the mall anymore.... No respectable pilot/operator would fly over a densely populated parking lot or crowds of people.
LoL ! And we have learned something from Hollywood. If there's a Zombie Apocalypse, head for your local Shopping Mall.
As promised, I have returned to the Orchards. Flying the DJI Inspire 1 around some of the Orchards near Cumberland Maryland. I have flown in this area before, but the weather conditions were not favorable then. This time some of the trees are in bloom and the weather was much better! And this time NO Buzzards!
Not my "latest" but some of my more liked. Beautiful day to fly today. But I have to work 13 hours today.... Thought you other Drone Enthusiasts would appreciate these.
Flying my DJI Inspire 1 Drone over the Allegany County Fairgrounds near Cumberland, Maryland. This is Thursday at 09:00 before the festivities known as DelFest. DelFest is a Concert Venue headed by the Del McCoury Band. This Music Festival occurs every year and brings thousands of fans to the area. Also visible in one point in the video is Western Maryland Correctional Facility. I will neither enter W.C.I. airspace, nor even approach in an aggressive manner For this reason: .
Del McCroury's music festival! Flying high above Cumberland Maryland's Music Festival: DelFest 2016 ! This video was shot Sunday around 10:00 AM, the last day of the festival. DelFest occurs every year and attracts thousands to the area. A shoutout to "Strut Your Mutt" dog groomer on Yuma Street for providing the VTOL spot! Also visible is Western Maryland Correctional Institution. I will not approach in haste nor enter W.C.I. airspace. Also, no responsible Pilot/Operator would fly over crowds. Be safe Enthusiasts! Be smart.
Back to more flying! This is a major construction project happening in my hometown. Estimated to cost $54,000,000.00 ! Doesn't look like much (yet!), but I should be able to piece together a good construction montage from this (and future) flight(s).
Take note of the ground when the Inspire 1 lifts off. My "shake" procedure shows some drift in these winds! Flying above Cumberland, Maryland with a DJI Inspire 1 ! A rather breezy day. Winds at 31 miles per hour (50 kilometers per hour) clocked with a handheld Anemometer. But still nice enough to check out the area. Cumberland's tiny Amtrak station is easily seen and a brief CSX Locomotive chase. The larger building you see in the video is Cumberland's Post Office. Watch in 4k !
Birds and Power Lines! Enemies of Drones. Now, luckily I DID NOT hit anything, and the Inspire made it back without a hitch, BUT.... It could have been bad. I almost went under a bridge, but I chickened out.... Bawk Bawk!
that water weir looks pretty good, looks like an interesting place to photograph. I think the fact that the drones are quite laud helps to warn the birds about what's coming... (i notice they usually fly away) though you might have some gigantic birds where you live.
Always makes it more interesting when there's a water feature. I was always afraid to fly over water, but the wisdom of the gurus at DroneMinds gave me the confidence to fly over water. My last few videos all had birds flying near where I was flying. Maybe it's just my part of the planet, but they all seem fearless! You can clearly see some zooming past the camera! As if to check out that strange, loud bird! My latest video, flying over the $54,000,000.00 (£36,752,400.00) project, the new Allegany High School. Which currently is just a mound of dirt. 1.2 miles (1.9 kilometers) away is where the old Allegany High School sits. Today was the perfect day to fly!!
