Affordable LIDAR would be awesome. It's nice that the lens is a bit sharper round the edges, I wonder if they improved the interval shooting any?
Wonder what the Inspire 2 will be like? https://www.yahoo.com/tech/finally-dji-phantom-drone-160031745.html
Nice article, apart from the 'some may find this creepy'. Don't know why they felt they needed to say that?
Having a Phantom 4 orbit me would not be out of the ordinary. But for the unsuspecting passer-by it could be creepy!
At the gimbal/camera end, things have changed, which is no harm, even though the camera still dangles low to the ground. What amazed me about my P3 advanced is at close inspection in flight it is amazing how photo & video come out so well, because the gimbal when looked at it seems to be vibrating/shaking like mad. I suppose they are trying to steady the gimball as much as possible so in the not to distant future there will be a zoom lens.
Slightly off topic, but have you seen this? Flying my DJI Inspire 1 with a GoPro Hero 3+ Silver attached (Apparatus shown at the end of the video) The Inspire's Camera view is shown after the GoPro footage. (Around 02:05 ) Take note, during this entire video I did NOT touch the Camera or Gimbal controls. This is all the Inspire doing the physics. Yes, the Gimbal and Camera shake -A lot as seen from the GoPro, but the result you see from the Inspire's Camera is silky smooth! What kind of sorcery is this?! Warning: Never attach anything to your Multirotor! They are not designed for payloads. Please don't fly like this.
