Just got the email: DJI is happy to announce the release of Intelligent Flight Modes for the Phantom 3 and Inspire 1. To take advantage of these features, visit your product’s download page at DJI.com, download and install the latest firmware, and update the DJI GO app to the latest version (iOS V2.2.0 and Android V2.1.0 ).
Tried to update controller with the new firmware but not a lot happened, so I don't know if it;s up to date or not. The app says everything is up to date so..????
Sara and I went out and tested the new @djiglobal functions today. Point of Interest and Follow Me work well, but the Waypoint Flying is a bit of a pain. You actually have to fly to the way points first and record the positions and heights. Have you tried them yet?
Haven't tried any new functions yet due to the bloody weather again, but the waypoint flying as you described is'nt what I thought it would be. I don't think I'll bother with all that fuss. I thought you could choose an altitude pick waypoints 1 to 4 or whatever on your map and fly AP.
Yeah, that's what I thought, but you actually have to fly to a chosen spot first, hit the record button and it records a waypoint at that spot, including the height and direction you're facing. You can't setup up a mission at the office or back home first, you have to be flying. You can save your waypoint mission once you've done it though, so if it's something you intend to repeat on different days it's not so bad.
Nice video, pretty landscape. The POI worked well around that ruins or what remains of that building. You did'nt crash in to it ..ha.ha....sorry terrible joke.
It is really beautiful, lot of really purple heather. Haha, no, didn't crash but I didn't do all of the flying so I might have done, still learning .
