Bat Bot-The Engineering of Flight Art

Using a custom-made silicon skin and articulated morphing wings, Soon-Jo Chung and researchers from UIUC found a piece of what they are looking for: The Holy Grail in the form of a Bat Bot. Soft articulated wings, this bot is a major milestone as it simulates Bat flight right down to the complexities and design. Nothing beats nature as a shining example on how to do actions most efficiently. Here is what we may expect in the next generations of flying robots.
