Futaba is to release a new 18 channel transmitter, seen in the video below, specifically for use with multirotor platforms.

Specifically designed for multi-rotor flight control systems giving you full control operation of 18 channels, using the regular Futaba 2.4GHz advanced FASSTest technology with telemetry functions.
The look is similar to the FX-22 and the basic configuration is also similar, but the multi-graphic LCD screen gives you more information.
The stick controls work as usual, up down left right, and also act as a turning knob so you can configure extra movements on the sticks.
In addition, there is an addon image transmission device that can show video directly from GoPro sports cameras, to receive video transmission.
There are no specific production plans as yet, and therefore I can not estimate the possible time to market. Still, I'm sure many will put off buying a new transmitter if this Futaba Multirotor 18 Channel Radio is in the pipelines.
